The APGO Preparation for Ob-Gyn Residency Knowledge Assessment Tool (APGO PrepforRes) is an interactive, web-based examination to measure the didactic knowledge of incoming ob-gyn interns based on the new ACGME Level 1-4 Milestones for Obstetrics and Gynecology. The ACGME Milestones are designed only for use in evaluation of residents in the context of their participation in ACGME-accredited residency programs. The Milestones provide a framework for the assessment of the development of the resident in key dimensions of the elements of physician competence in a specialty or subspecialty.
APGO updates the test bank questions annually. APGO PrepforRes is currently on v.8.12.2023.
APGO recognizes that people come from different backgrounds and may identify with varying races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We have followed the APGO DEI guidelines for the development of assessment tools. For the purposes of our clinical vignettes, it is our current practice to refer to patients as women or female with she/her pronouns, unless otherwise stated. This is being done to provide consistency for our learners so they may focus on the content of the question.
APGO is committed to addressing racism, discrimination, and biases to create a positive, fair, and inclusive learning community in ob-gyn education. As part of this commitment, APGO is undertaking a comprehensive review of our education materials and assessment tools. During the course of this review, materials which require update but are still perceived to be of educational value will remain on our site until updated materials are developed.
